Performer, Musical & Choral Director,Vocal Coach

Jill started performing at the age of seven, in local and national music festivals playing piano and flute. She played ‘Dorothy’ in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and her passion for singing and performing began. She performs regularly at weddings, christenings and funerals as well as charity events and concerts.

She gained a BA in Music & Drama from the University of Warwick, Grade 8 with distinction in Voice, Piano and Flute, holds diplomas in musical theatre performance and flute and studied advanced vocal techniques with Annette Thompson of The Guildhall School of Music.

A former Head of Music for a Private Girls School, she led a choir of 90 girls in that time and has been conducting prize-winning Choirs for some 30+ years.

Jill founded community Choirs, The Wing Singers and the Wendover Singers, both Choirs have over 100 members with each Choir celebrating their 10th and 5th year anniversaries, respectively, this year.

An experienced mentor, Jill is always very happy to share her expertise as a vocal coach, MD and/or conductor, offering guidance to anyone wanting to understand aspects of the role of MD, Choral Conductor, Performer or Coach - either in the form of shadowing and/or in Q'n'A / feedback sessions.

Jill is also an advanced pianist & flutist, performing in music recitals and has taught many students in both instruments. She is an expert band conductor and musical curator & composer in her spare time.

 

Her unique balance between professional polish and high standards is effortlessly combined with her sense of fun, excitement and desire for harmony in everything she does and with everyone she touches.
